Short answer

What happens at the door when a parcel needs an adult signature: the 21+ rule, the ID check, signing through an agent, the 15-day hold, and why we will not ship to an address you cannot sign at.

Short answer. We take Order Requests from every state and ship to home addresses, but whether you may receive hemp THCA flower is up to your state’s law. When a parcel carries the Postal Service’s Adult Signature service, the person who signs must be 21 or older and show ID. If nobody eligible is home, the parcel waits at the post office for 15 days (5 for Priority Mail Express), then goes back to the sender.

How adult signature works

The Postal Service sets the rule in its Domestic Mail Manual, section 503.8:

Age. Adult Signature confirms delivery “and signature of the recipient, who must be 21 years of age or older.”
ID. The recipient shows an acceptable primary form of identification, as listed in DMM 608.10.3: in practice a current photo ID such as a driver’s license, state ID or passport.
When it is bought. It is purchased “at the time of mailing,” so it is decided before the parcel leaves, not at your door.
Which services. It is offered with Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, and commercial USPS Ground Advantage and Parcel Select.

The Operator tells you on the call whether your parcel carries an adult signature. If it does, plan for someone 21 or older to be there with ID.

Who may sign

You, with your ID.
Another adult 21 or older at the address, if the service is plain Adult Signature Required rather than restricted delivery, and they show ID.
An agent you authorize. DMM section 508.1.1.8 lets an addressee authorize an agent “on Form 3801 or by letter to the Postmaster” to receive restricted delivery and Adult Signature mail. The age rule still applies to whoever signs.

Nobody under 21 should sign for, open or keep one of our parcels. If a carrier sees signs the recipient is a minor, it should not hand the parcel over, and we cancel any order where that happens.

If nobody is home

DMM section 508.1.1.7 sets the routine: the carrier leaves a notice, and “if the piece is not called for or redelivery is not requested, the piece is returned to the sender after 15 days (5 days for Priority Mail Express).” So:

Look for the notice (or the “Notice Left” status in tracking).
Schedule redelivery or pick it up with your ID at the post office named on the notice.
Call us if the hold window is closing and you cannot get there. Once a parcel is on its way back, we sort out the next step with you.

Addresses we will not ship to

We do not ship to an address you cannot sign at, to a forwarding or reshipping service set up to get around a state’s rules, or outside the United States. The Postal Service bars hemp from international mail, including APO, FPO and DPO addresses (Publication 52, section 453.37).

Your state, your address

A carrier delivering to your door does not make the contents lawful where you live. Some states forbid shipping hemp-derived cannabinoid products to consumers at all; Tennessee is one (Public Chapter 526, sec. 57-7-113). We block no state at checkout, which is why the check is yours to make before you order.
